The study for the monument’s reconstruction and restoration was based on data from a detailed and precise recording of damage and an instrumental monitoring of the building’s deformation, as well as on the results of specialized studies and research which involved determining the mechanical properties of the ancient blocks (endurance/load-bearing capacity, measurement of elasticity), the properties of geomaterials, and an assessment of the mechanical behavior of the tumulus, above all the composition of the new materials employed for the intervention.
